Punjab Govt Announces Its First Online Portal for Eid Animals

The first official online portal has been unveiled by the Punjabi government, giving its residents the ease of purchasing sacrificial animals without having to leave their homes.

This platform makes it easier for people to purchase sacrificial animals online before Eid-ul-Adha by utilizing contemporary technology.

The website provides comprehensive animal listings that include photographs, age, weight, species, breed, cost, and other relevant information.

Officials from the Punjab Cattle Market Management have given assurances about the security of the transaction portal, which requires ID card numbers from both buyers and sellers.

The MET office states that the start of the Hajj will be on June 8 if the Pakistani month of Zilqad lasts for 29 days. Thus, June 17, 2024, will be the date of Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.

If, as an alternative, the month of Zilqad lasts 30 days, then the arrival of Zilhajj is on June 9 and Eid-ul-Adha is on June 18.

However, following the observation of the moon on Zilhajj 1455, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Pakistan will make the official announcement.

The Feast of Sacrifice, or Eid-ul-Adha, is one of the two major Eid celebrations observed by Muslims. It honors Prophet Ibrahim’s readiness to give his son as a sacrifice to demonstrate his devotion to God.

The custom of ritual animal slaughter to commemorate the event involves distributing the meat to kin and the less fortunate.

Muslims honor Prophet Ibrahim by sacrificing animals over the course of three days on Eid.
